E-Bike Delivery and Assembly

Short answer: your Shengmilo e-bike arrives in 3–7 working days, largely pre-assembled, and setting it up is simple with the included tools. This guide walks you through e-bike delivery and assembly step by step, so you know exactly what happens from order to first ride.

Buying a bike online can feel like a leap of faith. It doesn’t need to be. Here is the whole process, without surprises.

Step 1: Order confirmation and tracking

Right after you order, you receive a confirmation email. Then, as soon as your bike ships, a second email arrives with your tracking number. You can follow the parcel at any time on our order tracking page.

Delivery is free and usually takes 3–7 working days. The courier may also contact you by phone or text to arrange the delivery moment, so make sure your phone number is correct.

Step 2: Receiving the box

An e-bike comes in a large, heavy box. With the bike inside, it weighs around 40 kg, so it is a good idea to have someone help you carry it.

Before you sign for the delivery, look at the box. If it is clearly damaged, take photos and note the damage on the courier’s form. In the rare case that something is wrong inside, those photos help us solve it quickly. Contact us within 48 hours of delivery if anything is damaged, wrong or missing.

Step 3: Unpacking

Open the box carefully and avoid using a sharp knife near the bike. Next, remove the protective foam and cable ties one by one.

You will find:

  • The bike, mostly assembled
  • The battery (sometimes already fitted in the frame)
  • The charger
  • The pedals and any small parts that still need fitting
  • A tool set and the user manual

Keep the box and packaging for the first days. You will need it if you ever have to send the bike back.

Step 4: E-bike delivery and assembly made easy

E-bike assembly sounds harder than it is. Most of the bike is already built at the factory, including the motors, wiring and brakes. In most cases, therefore, you only fit a few parts:

  1. Handlebar: attach it to the stem, align it with the front wheel and tighten the bolts evenly.
  2. Front wheel: if it arrives separately, slide it into the fork, tighten it and connect the front motor cable as shown in the manual.
  3. Pedals: the left and right pedals have different threads. The left one tightens anti-clockwise, so check the L and R marks.
  4. Saddle: set it to a comfortable height and tighten the clamp.
  5. Lights and accessories: fit them as shown in the manual.

Take your time and tighten every bolt firmly. If you get stuck, our help center and support team can send you photos or a video. Alternatively, any local bike shop can do the setup for a small fee.

Step 5: Charge before the first ride

Charge the battery fully before your first ride. This way, you get the full range from day one.

A full charge takes about [CHECK: charging time] hours. Charge indoors at room temperature, on a hard surface, away from anything flammable. For more battery tips, read How far can you really go on a 1200Wh battery?

Step 6: Your first ride, the safe way

Shengmilo e-bikes are powerful, so the first ride deserves a calm start. These steps make it safe and enjoyable.

Check before you ride:

  • Tire pressure matches the value on the tire
  • Front and rear brakes stop the bike firmly
  • Handlebar, saddle and wheels are tight
  • Lights work
  • You wear a helmet

Then: start in the lowest assist level on a quiet road or car park. First, get a feel for how quickly the motors respond. After that, practise braking a few times before you ride in traffic or on trails. Finally, increase the assist level step by step. On a dual-motor bike like the S600 PRO, the extra grip feels great, but it takes a few minutes to get used to.

Before riding on public roads, check the e-bike rules in your country. They differ between countries, and the rider is responsible for following them. Wikipedia gives an overview of e-bike laws by country.

Step 7: After the first 100 km

New bikes settle in. Cables stretch slightly, and bolts can loosen a little. So, after the first 100 km, check all bolts again, adjust the brakes if needed, and check the spokes. If the gears skip, a small turn on the derailleur adjuster usually fixes it; Shimano publishes clear manuals for its parts.

This small check keeps the bike safe and quiet for years.
